SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE BRINDLEY ENHANCEMENT

Apr 12, 2022

Last month Halton Borough Council revealed design concepts to show how The Brindley could look under ambitious plans to develop the existing building and surrounding area.

Now the public can view these plans and speak to the project team behind them, at an open event being held at The Brindley on Thursday 14 April – from 1pm to 3pm.

Anyone attending will have the opportunity to complete a survey designed to understand how well The Brindley currently meets the needs of local people and organisations – and what, if anything, could be done as part of the enhancement works to improve this.

The Brindley Theatre Enhancement would see an extension to current facilities to create a larger cafe-restaurant and a welcoming community space and outdoor events venue on Brindley Green. Under the plans, the library currently located at Granville Street would also be relocated and integrated in to The Brindley building, which it is hoped will enhance facilities and attract new visitors.

Those not able to go along to The Brindley on the 14th, may also complete the survey online here: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/HBCbrindleyenhancement

Paper versions of the survey can be requested by emailing reconnectingruncorn@halton.gov.uk or by calling 0303 333 4300.

The survey will close on 22 April 2022.

The Brindley Enhancement project is one of seven projects that together form the ‘Reconnecting Runcorn’ Town Investment Plan, aimed at making Runcorn a prime location, by providing the workforce, connectivity and infrastructure business needs to thrive.

In July 2021, it was announced that £23.6million had been allocated to the Runcorn Town Investment plan as part of the Government’s Town Deal.
