May 24, 2024

Once home to the Runcorn-based sitcom ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ the former ‘Archers Pub’ has been transformed into a magnificent Buddhist Temple and is undergoing two more exciting developments as part of Reconnecting Runcorn.

Tony Collacott, Temple Trustee, showed Susan Nickson around the temple, taking her through the plans for the community Peace Garden that is quicky taking shape and set to be completed with a centrepiece Chedi, a striking statue crafted in gold and bronze, donated by a benefactor from Thailand. Alongside the Peace Garden a new Ubosot Hall is under development, this project lies at the heart of the temples expansion and will become a sacred space.
